| He had finally completed his jutsu; the pool of blood which Arashi had worked so hard to fill now oozed beneath his feet, covering all traces of the grass that once made this field green and beautiful. Tired and exhausted the boy's legs began to tremble and he soon fell backwards into his own warm blood, the liquid splashing between his fingers as the submerged below the surface and painting the majority of his body red. He breathed in and out heavily with his head hung low for a long while until greeted by a soft yet familiar voice. "Well done," it spoke from the shadowy borders of the trees along the edge of the field. Arashi quickly glanced up to spot a group of figures, each cloaked with a jet black hood. The brown haired boy quickly scrambled to his feet, nearly slipping from the decreased traction of his sandals due to the crimson liquid. "Who are you?!" he snarled questioningly at the group who swiftly emerged from the forest at speeds which seemed like they had teleported to a large stone that rested to Arashi's left.
Now that the group was out in the open and illuminated by the sparkling beams of moonlight, he counted the number of his adversaries. In total there were five, the leader was a male with visibly glowing yellow eyes peering from the shadow cast by his hood. Two other members possessed more womanly body shapes. The final two figures were also men, one wielding a large scythe which he hung on his back and the other fiddled with a slender katana blade at his waist. "Silence! We told you we would kill you one day and that long awaited day has finally come!" the woman at the leader's side shouted callously. Arashi's crystal eyes widened in surprise. So many memories washed into his mind all at once, some of them fond while others tormented his very sanity. "I don't understand," he choked, gazing upon the ground for his eyes were beginning to well with moisture. "After all of those years. Why hate me!?" he shouted back with anger and confusion as obvious tones in his voice. The group stood their ground motionlessly and silently, each of them gazing down upon the young boy.
"Answer me!" he cried out desperately. The tears could no longer be held back and they streamed down his face, warming his round and frigid cheeks. The leader, one of the five standing upon the top of the rock, raised one of his legs and hovered it over the side of the stone, letting it dangle in the open air. Then with a single motion he hopped off the rock and landed onto the ground, careful not to step into a patch of grass deeply submerged in Arashi's blood summoning. "You wouldn't understand. You never did," he replied softly, his hooded skull drooped down. "That's beside the point though. You're exhausted. There's no way you could defeat all of us in your current condition. so this is goodbye." Another figure on top of the rock, the woman from earlier suddenly jumped off the stone and landed next to the leader, leaving only the man wielding a scythe on its surface. "Let's just get this over with!" she urged arrogantly, and shifted all her weight forward to begin dashing forward, however the boy with glowing eyes extended his arm out to his side to hold her back.
"Patience," he told her to which she huffed angrily and crossed her arms. The entirety of Arashi's body now shivered violently with nerves. "I won't fight back!" he shouted in a desperate plea, not ready to engage his closest childhood friends. "That's....probably for the best," the leader nodded. With a sigh he pulled a kunai knife from an unzipped pocket in his cloak and dashed forward at blinding speeds, prepared take down the frightened Arashi with a single painless blow. Several other of the members soon followed after, most notably the outspoken girl whom banked a right towards Arashi's side, and the slender man with the katana standing along the side of the large stone. "This ends now!" the leader shouted, slicing his kunai straight through the air aimed with expert precision at Arashi's heart. The brown haired boy quickly reached back behind his waist and grasped the black metallic handle of his dagger, whipping it out in front of his body to clash with the kunai, which suddenly began to wrap itself around the dagger's blade. Glancing up, Arashi spotted the reflection of a thin wire originating from Shiiro's fingertip.
"He caught me in his jutsu," Arashi thought out loud to himself, hesitant to release his treasured dagger. The woman was nearing his side holding a canteen in her hand from which she drew a long cylinder of water, and thrust it forward at Arashi. The water quickly crystallized into a large spike of ice to spear the boy, who raised his thumb to his lips and bit down hard with his canine tooth to create a wound which he used to thrust into the thin layer of blood on the ground. Several spikes of blood shot out from the ground and hardened to catch the ice spear before it reached Arashi's body. Then from behind the sword wielding member brought his katana down swiftly towards Arashi, who jumped to the side and narrowly dodged the attack. "Fine. If it's a fight you want," Arashi began, leaping upside-down in the air towards the leader, pulling the wire along with hims as he was still gripping the dagger tightly. Landing on the ground, he immediately followed into a dash, then dropped to the ground on his hands as he reached his target.
Arashi quickly brought his foot upward aimed at his opponent's chin, only to be met by a hard surface created by the second woman previously stationed at the rock. She had dived in at the last second and seemed to construct a barrier made of her own chakra, which she used to deflect the attack. Arashi now glanced in the direction of the rock to find that the final member of the group was no longer standing on the rock either, the man with the scythe draped from his back. "I've entered the battle. It's over now," a voice whispered in Arashi's ear from behind him. Suddenly a scythe blade curved around the top of his shoulder and entered his skin to the side o his chest. Arashi winced in pain and in terror that he was trapped in this position. Blood began to pour from the wound and drip down the front of his jacket, staining it a bloody red color. "The final blow!" the water manipulator yelled, throwing both hands out to her sides then pulling them together.
Small amounts of water which floated around her arms followed with the movements, first flaring outward and then meeting at the center of Arashi's body while turning to ice. The pillars speared his body and his eyes bulged with the impact. He stayed in that position for several seconds before his head went limp and dropped down to rest motionlessly against his chest. Then Arashi's entire body turned red and melted down into the shallow pool of blood at his feet. His body reformed a few feet away from the group, completely unharmed. "My Blood Clones," he explained, then several more clones rose up from the blood and formed behind him. The leader scoffed then lowered his hood to reveal pale blond hair and all too familiar facial features. "it really is you, Shiiro," Arashi's heart dropped. His childhood best friend really had come to murder him. _________________ |
