What is ANBU? A Quick Summary

ANBU (Special Assassination and Tactical Squad) is an elite team of Ninja, who specialize in high level missions, such as Assassination and Torture. These take direct orders from the Kage. They usually work in teams formed on the requirements for the mission, as to ensure maximum success. The Shinobi in ANBU are hand picked by the Kage, chosen for their special abilities and skills. Age, gender, or previous rank bear no weight in this decision. There are no true ranks within ANBU, leadership and Hierarchy are decided by Merit and Experience. The highest rank available to an ANBU member is the ANBU Captain, and these are the squad leaders. These positions are generally held in high regard, almost demanding respect from those around them.

Requirements

There is only one requirement to join ANBU, and that is for the Hokage to determine whether or not you would make an impact by joining the group. Any rank of Ninja could be taken, although in general, it is VERY rare for a Genin to obtain a place within ANBU. It's not impossible, but it's highly unlikely. As such, for a realistic chance of joining ANBU, the rank would be Chuunin at least. Jounin level Ninja often find themselves becoming an ANBU Captain after some time.

Application

A way to gain a higher chance of joining ANBU would be to fill in an application on this topic. This will let Admins, and most importantly, the Hokage, know that you are interested in joining.
